Ardennes Draft Horse

A powerful draft horse native to France, the Ardennes is one of the oldest draft horse breeds. Originating in the Ardennes region of France and Belgium, these horses had to be hardy to work the rough terrain which was laden with forests and hills. They also provided transport for several military campaigns. The muscular and heavy-boned Ardennes stands just 15-16hh, yet can weight up to 2,200 pounds.
